Regional Success for Floor and Vault Girls

We are so proud of all the girls we took to the regional Floor and Vault competition in Stoke on 4th December.  There were lots of competitors from Clubs across the West Midlands and a lovely atmosphere for the girls to compete in.

We entered over 60 children and performed to the very best of our ability.  Lots of new harder vaults were competed and lots of new moves tried out.  We also cam away with lots of compliments and quite a few medals and trophies.  Well done everyone!  Full results can be found on the results page.

Level 5 Competition

Well done to Izzy, Bethany and Susannah who took part in the Level 5 Competition on 22nd October.  This is a higher level Women’s Artistic Competition where the girls compete on all pieces of apparatus.

We are very proud of how hard the girls worked to take part in this competition.

New Coaches!

Congratulations go to our coach helpers Jorja & Georgia who successfully completed their Core Proficiency Coaching Course on Sunday 9th October.

We are committed to the development of our young coaches and look forward to seeing them develop.

Leotard Sale

Many thanks to all who purchased leotards at our Zone Sale.  We raised a respectable £91.49 in commission.

KICKSTART Gym Club joins us

We are really happy to announce that as of the second week in September Kickstart Gymnastics Club have joined us at Greenwood Academy.  This is with the long term goal of the two clubs amalgamating fully.

Coach Sarah has been working with Kickstart for the past couple of years and Charlotte, Louise and Danielle have all coached there in the past.  The decision has been made to welcome them into the Erdington GC family.  We welcome Coach Rachel who is an old Erdington Gymnast herself and is well know to us, as well as proficiency coaches Cherrie and Dianne.

Kickstart sessions will run under their own name for the time being on a Tuesday evening.

Coach Emily moves on

We were really sorry to see Coach Emily leave us at the beginning of September.  Emily has been a member of the club since she was a little girl and has become a fantastic coach and valuable member of the team.  She will be missed greatly, but we look forward to seeing her soon and wish her well at University.

Summer Camp Success

Our Summer camp ran for two weeks over the holiday.  Everyone had such fun with Coaches Emma and Danielle.  Lots of new skills were learned and lots of games played.

Make sure you get booked onto our October camp!

Sponsored Olympics

We had a fantastic time celebrating our own Olympics.  We clambered over obstacles, ran races, scored goals and won prizes.

All our games had a sporting theme and we all enthusiastically supported our teams, with prizes for the best sportsmanship and for helping their team.

Lots of videos of this event can be found on our Facebook page.

This was a fundraising event and raised £965.50.  Cerys Hipkiss was our best fundraiser and will be awarded with a new leotard for her efforts.

Summer Display

What a fantastic success our Summer display was.  The day saw over 200 gymnasts take part over two displays for nearly 400 relatives and friends.

The children and teens from all sections of the club put in a lot of practice to produce an exciting and enjoyable showcase of lots of the routines from their sessions.  We saw vaulting, tumbling, dancing and lots and lots of smiles.

We are so proud of everyone who took part.  This event raised a huge £2107.50 for club funds, which is a fantastic effort.

Ticket Competition

Congratulations to Alex Jones and Freya Cox, whose designs were chosen for our summer display.
