Pits progress

The main construction of our pits is complete.  We are very grateful to Simon Wright and his team for being the friendliest contractors ever and building us our wonderful podium.

We are just waiting for Gymnova to come in and clad and fill the pits with foam and install the podium equipment. It’s all very exciting!

Bunny Hops

Our Bunny Hops pre-school sessions are proving such a hit with little ones and parents and carers alike.  So many smiles and so much fun has been had during our specialist sessions.

This month our theme is animals!

British Gymnastics Membership News

As many are aware there have been lots of problems with the online membership system British Gymnastics has launched.

For your information, they have released the following statement:

Important Information

Dear Club,

Update on our membership system

We’re working hard to resolve the issues that affected our membership system earlier this week and are pleased to be able to tell you that we are making good progress. Our technical teams have identified the issues which caused the system to fail and are now testing the solutions we have put in place.

We will continue rigorous testing of the system over the next few days to ensure that when it re-opens, it is robust and will enable members to complete their membership without further problems.

Early next week we will contact you again with details of when your members can begin to use the system.

The extended insurance cover we have put in place for clubs and gymnasts will continue until the membership system reopens and members have had adequate opportunity to join or renew their membership.

I would like to remind everyone that while we are still working on our membership system, our customer service team cannot undertake membership renewals or changes for you and that there is no access to GymNET, including My Account.

We’re very aware of the difficulties these system issues have caused for clubs, members and their parents & guardians. We apologise for the problems you have experienced and would like to assure you that we are working extremely hard to bring you a stable working membership system as quickly as possible.

Please look out for a further update early next week.

Yours sincerely

Simon Evans
Community Services Director

Gymnastics Pits are on the way

Slightly excited… after all the planning and fundraising bid writing our Gymnastics Podium complete with 3 foam pits, 2 bar stations, sunken trampoline, fast track, tumble track and very importantly full wheelchair access for rebound therapy is being installed!!!

Lottery Funding Secured

We are very excited to announce that the first part of our £50,000.00 grant from Sport England hit our account today! This grant was so hard to come by and took a massive amount of work to achieve. We are one of the first Gymnastics Clubs in the whole country to benefit from the Community Asset Fund so we are feeling very blessed!

This money is going straight back out of our account today towards our most exciting installation yet! Watch this space…. going to have some very happy gymnasts!

And we’re off!

We were really excited to welcome our first new children to our new venue on Saturday 16th September.  There is still lots of work to do, but we saw over 400 new members able to access sessions during our first week of operation.

We are so grateful to all of the organisations and individuals that have helped us get to this stage and look forward to what the future will bring!

Booking Launched

You can now book onto our brand new programme beginning in September in Sutton Coldfield by visiting our Class pages.

Works have begun to what is likely to be the most colourful venue in North Birmingham… we look forward to meeting you!

New Equipment Ordered

Now the agreement for lease is in place the club has financed the following equipment that will be installed in the new centre, meaning that the majority of the equipment will be brand new and top of the range.  We have ordered:

2 x new full size beams, 1 low height beam and connected competition style matting, competition style vault run-up, new spring trampette, ‘tampo tremp’ (in between springboard and trampette), 3 x new springboards for various ages and levels of gymnasts, lots of pre-school equipment, 2 x new sets of Asymmetric bars, 1 x adjustable high bar and all matting and cable protectors.

We really want our new venue and programme to be the best recreational gymnastics programme around.  With the help of all this fantastic equipment and our fabulous coaches it stands a very good chance of being that!

New floor ordered courtesy of Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust

The Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust agreed some months ago to fund a brand new floor.  Their extremely generous grant of nearly £29,000.00 will fund a 14m x 14m top of the rang sprung gymnastics floor.

This will be the central piece of equipment for our brand new facility and I ordered it yesterday!  We are so excited for the possiblilities that this equipment affords the club and very grateful to the trust for theur help in making our dream a reality.

Agreement for Lease in Place

We are now able to get things started in the refitting of the new gym in Sutton Coldfield.  We are still waiting for a boundary issue to be rectified before the lease is signed in its entirety, but we now have an ‘Agreement for Lease’ that allows us to get started.

Please contact us if you are able to help as there is lots of work to do.
